Turkey/Carb Overload & #GivingTuesday

I have had a few days to overindulge and reflect on a whole bunch of things I’m grateful for. I try to practice reflecting on the good stuff each day, even when I’m not eating turkey or 18,000 net carbs. (per bite.)

And speaking of 18,000, my “CHAI to PAM at 50” fundraising campaign is hovering at 31% to our $18,000 goal, which is really excellent. There are still several weeks until my 50th birthday, so I’m confident we’ll get to $18,000. Making this goal, or even better, exceeding it, would be the absolute best 50th birthday gift, EVER!

For my birthday, in lieu of gifts, which I never ask for, I am raising money for ORT America’s URGENT campaign in the former Soviet Union. The STEM program (science, technology, engineering and math) at the de Gunzburg School is at great risk, and that means students and their families are at risk, but this Tuesday, there happens to be a fun and easy way people can help.

This Tuesday, is #GivingTuesday Of course, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving and collaboration which is primarily fueled through social media channels. I have many  thoughts, strategies and tactics on #GivingTuesday that could likely turn into three blog posts, but who has time for that?! Instead, I’m deciding to simply enjoy every moment of the day and of the initiative. On November 29th, I hope you’ll join me in supporting

Let Go and LEGO!ort-blue

This ORT America campaign will provide LEGO robotics kits to disadvantaged youth. LEGO is an essential component of the innovative STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) instruction that ORT is known for, which helps youth advance academically.

Now, here’s a fun thing too… ANYONE who contributes to the “CHAI to Pam at 50” campaign on #GivingTuesday, will not only receive extra special joy by helping provide Lego robotics kits to kids who may someday invent something that will save your life, but I will allocate all funds raised on that day, to the Let Go and LEGO campaign. If that isn’t exciting enough, you can brag to all of your friends that you’re a very important investor in youth and robotics.

Giving simply feels as good as it gets. It’s my inspiration for nearly everything I do, and if you aren’t philanthropic yet, #GivingTuesday is a great launchpad!

#GivingTuesday + Me + You + ♥ + Family +Friends = Phabulous Philanthropic Phenoms

Legos + Robotics + Kids + Innovation = Better World

See you this Tuesday. Looking forward to it!
