Nothing Could be Finer than to Honor Lynn Reiner

When anyone mentions ORT to Lynn Reiner, and people often do, they are likely (and lucky) to catch her infectious enthusiasm and passion for ORT and all things related to elevating education. Lynn’s unique presence leaves a profound and indescribable impact on the people, places and things she touches. This is certainly true for ORT on a global and national scale as well as here in the Metropolitan Chicago Region. She has been unwavering in her dedication to ORT for more than 36 years.

On Sunday, April 23rd at Bryn Mawr Country Club, Lynn will receive the Claire Mazer Metropolitan Chicago Region Tikkun Olam Leadership Award at this year’s Lunch With a View. For those of us who are already acquainted with Lynn, it’s obvious as to why this honor is being bestowed upon her, as she personifies the true spirit of Tikkun Olam as she devotes herself to repairing the world.
Lynn’s tireless commitment to ORT is straightforward and resolute.
“ORT programs and projects make an enormous impact and that impact just snowballs. What a single student learns from an ORT School impacts the trajectory of his or her entire life. It influences entire families and whole communities. There are more jobs and increased money available for ORT alums. A community that’s educated brings wealth – better people, better jobs, and better businesses. As I said, it just snowballs from one individual to everything that surrounds that individual. By supporting the ORT programs that care for and educate disadvantaged youth throughout the world, students get raised up to a whole other level. With the unparalleled, cutting-edge, innovative and inclusive ORT education, students are at the forefront of breaking down the barriers of fear, anti-Semitism, hatred and bigotry. Who doesn’t want to support that?!”
Lynn is one-of-a-kind and for all of us in the Metropolitan Chicago Region, she is a constant and welcome reminder of all that ORT has been, is and has yet to become, as we move forward together to elevate education and repair the world.
We encourage you to join us for this inspired event. Get acquainted with Lynn Reiner, live and in person! Lunch With a View will feature New York Times best-selling author, Jennifer Keishin Armstrong and her best-selling book, Seinfeldia. Judy Levin, (also an extraordinary ORT and education champion and previous recipient of the Claire Mazer Metropolitan Chicago Region Tikkun Olam Leadership Award), will moderate.
Three more ORT and education champions to add to the Lunch With a View roster are, Holly Ginsburg and Julie Isaacson as stellar co-chairs, along with Melissa Halperin as NextGen co-chair.
Register now because space is limited and equally important, and perhaps more, register so you too can elevate education and like Lynn, become a champion of ORT.
